CMBS: Canadian Light Infantry by Oleksandr

This mod was inspired by Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry unit. I’ve created it for two reasons: 1 – I’m planing to make a new campaign later on where Canadian Forces will be tightly cooperating with Ukrainian forces. 2 – Canada was supporting Ukraine and took a step in all wars what were fought by the US, so this is my way of saying, “thank you” towards my Canadian comrades.

This mod is replacing “Coyote Brown” gear and uniform of the U.S. forces. I’ve tried to stick to initial Canadian look of those units you will see here. This is version 1.0. I will do certain updates within time. Those of you who knows about Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry unit will find some eye candies within this mod. I reworked all the gear + uniform + shoes + helmets.

NOTE: at this moment using both American and Canadian forces might be complicated because certain parts of uniform are affecting essential American side. Yet, I’m working on American mod as well and I will try to fix some of that later on. I hope you will enjoy it.

Maple leaf flag patches are typically worn on the left shoulder, only. I’ve never seen one worn on the chest, and indeed, don’t even know how you would do that. The flag patches (which come in two sizes) are backed by Velcro and worn on either a Velcro tab on the shoulder, or on an angled Velcro patch on the arm, depending on the type of combat shirt or overgarment. There would also be no reason to put it on the helmet; far more common affectations include “cat eyes” on the back, for use in station-keeping on night marches/patrols or possibly subdued name tags though that seems to have been far more common with the OD green field cap than the helmet. The PPCLI cap badge on the sleeve is a nice touch but I’ve never seen this done in actual practice. More likely would be the white on red crescent shaped shoulder patch, first worn by the Patricias in 1914.

  2. Thank you for this information man. Will fix those things. I’ve seen patch on the back of those helmets on few photos. I will eventually upgrade all my mods – and I will surely make changes accordingly to your info. Thanks again.
