This is a re-upload of Blimey’s fantastic news/music mod that lingers in purgatory on the old BF Repository. I believe he was inspired by the music splash that came with CM:A and applied the technique to SF (and now SF2). It is very atmospheric and I recommend you listen all the way through at least once to get the full affect. He did a great job on it. I figured I’d make it available so people new to SF2 could use it. Or give those who missed or lost it another stab at acquiring it.

NOTE: Works with both SF and SF2.

CMSF Alternative Music: Red Hot Heavy

This is Original Music created by Lon Kaiser as alternate music for Combat Mission : Shock Force.

Enjoy the new music. The first two pieces are in the vein of the original music but tend to be more “Tune” oriented and quite more Syrian in nature.

The “end of game” music is somber, cinematic and classical. A departure from the opening musics and perhaps looking forward to WWII CM.

Place these files in your Z folder and fire up!! If you find you like one more than the other or perhaps want just the classical piece for the whole game: be my guest and make two duplicate copies of “music end of battle.wav” and change the titles to
“music intro.wav” and “music splash.wav”

Tired of the same old music in CMBN? So am I. To rectify that, I’ve composed and recorded new music for your enjoyment.

Instructions: Unzip ‘music’ and place folder in your ‘Z’ folder. Disable existing music mods (if any are present) and enjoy

Notes: these pieces are in the mid 20th century milieu in regards to stylistic considerations. Think Copland, Messiaen and 12 Tone Serialism.

Inspired by Kohlenklau and his CMPzC project “Road to Eindhoven”.

Two wav-files with the “A Bridge Too Far” theme. The small file plays for 1.51 min. The other for 3.20 min.

Rename to “music intro.wav” or music splash.wav” and copy to “Z”, to play them with the resp. selection screen.
