This mod will provide your red side with recamouflaged BTR-80A.

Tactical signs on its hull and turret were removed or covered with white circles.

While meeting those vehicles in the game you will be able to notice their camouflage – apperantly those came from brigades what are located in caucasus region of russia.

Dust, dirt and scratched paint details were added.

This mod will provide you with alternative camouflage for Ukrainian BTR-4E.

All vehicles are a little dusty, scratched but not muddy (In my opinion it will fit summer steppes better).

First and foremost I’ve used my EFVC (Eastern Front Vehicle Camouflage) pattern to fit these vehicles into Eastern European theatre.

I came out with this camouflage pattern while playing the game and thinking about how would vehicles assigned to missions in Ukraine/Russia/Belarus would need to look like to fit those areas.

As I mentioned in my previous “EFVC” vehicles mods this camouflage consists of several camouflages mixed together.

Most of the textures were reworked, I even added a map of Shirokino (place near city of Mariupol Ukraine) into command vehicle.

All vehicles are covered with dust, dirt and mud.

Colors of those details (dust, dirt and mud) are represented in Ukrainian steppes, Belorusian forests, and russian offroad terrains.

I’ve tried to fit these vehicles into most of the maps what are avaliable in original game and in battlepack 1 (so they might work good for your missions even if you don’t have battlepack installed).

For better experience I strongly suggest you to use this mod along with following mods:

All of those mods will let you operate with US Forces what are in my opinion would better fit into Eastern European theatre.

Interesting fact – these BTRs were used in one of the first operation of KGB + GRU special forces in Afghanistan – Palace of Amin Assault .

It was then when Soviets understood that jumping off this thing wasnt very safe. In that operation few KGB special forces operators died specifically because of the design of these things.

Yet, operation itself was a major success for Soviets. According to Soviet side sources soviets lost only 20 men (5 KGB operators, 9 paratroopers, 6 members of “Muslim” battalion) while killing nearly 800 men (400 men according to western sources) from Amins security forces, including himself and 2 of his sons. Obviusly such kill/death ratio became possible because certain factors were involved – massive usage of supressive fire provided by Shilkas, and additional support from BMP’s.

Anyhow this vehicle is still in use today in many countries, and I hope that you will enjoy this fresh look during your personal Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

101st Motorized Rifle Regiment was deployed in Afghanistan in late December of 1979 and remained there up untill January 1989. It was an active element of  “5th Guards Zimnovnikovskaya Order of Kutuzov Motorized Rifle Division Named After the 60th Anniversary of the USSR” division (and yes this is the name of the unit, yes that long).

101st Motorized Rifle Regiment took an active role in several major USSR operations in Afghanistan.
