So I’ve been playing around with the explosion graphics in CM – I’ve enjoyed the ones from the various mods, but it always bothered me how huge and cartoony they looked. So I set about making an explosion inspired by Project Reality and Squad(…), in fancy 1024 high resolution

I was honestly a bit annoyed by CM’s rendition of the Germans firing their LMG’s with one hand on the barrel, so I saw that US soldiers in the modern games seemed to hold the M240 closer to what a German GPMG should be.

So I swapped some files and voilà.

Install it by unzipping it into the Z folder inside your data folder. Create it if you don’t have one.

It should work for all CM2 games.

Let the spirit of the MACHINE GUN be with you.

This is not a mod with actual voice files of Canadians unfortunately. Rather since the Canadians share the same voice files with the Americans one would hear at time your Canadians speaking with obviously non-Canadian accents such as US Southern or New York. I replace the offending files taking some of the new ones from other sources. Sorry no Francophone Canadians at this time.

The icons have a slightly three-dimensional appearance so that they look like counters from traditional board-based war games. And, when the icon blinks (i.e., the unit is selected or wounded), the unit’s national flag is displayed.

So it should be building201 (03). If you put the folder in your DATA>Z folder it should be available for scenario creation.
Shift-left clicking should change the barn till you get this one.

A white barn

It is suitable for anywhere and any period of Combat Mission where they have whitewashed barns.  I imagine that's most places.

It is in Standard Definition (if you like) so it will load quickly. I considered making it in HD (Like Kieme's Mods) 

but decided it was simpler this way and will not look out of place near existing buildings.

It is fully functional, men on foot can enter and shoot out, and it is destructible, as normal.

NO FORMATION MARKINGS MOD – CMFI – BRITISH ARMY http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=6961 http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=6961#comments Wed, 01 Aug 2018 17:12:21 +0000 http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=6961 In short these mods remove various details on the stock textures that depict the units being part of a specific formation. This pack in particular focuses on the vehicles and uniforms of the British Army in Combat Mission Fortress Italy. The mod is probably not compatible with vehicle and uniform texture mods from other authors. For the longer version about the mods continue reading.

The pictures above illustrate the reason I decided to create these. The game uses the same textures for some soldiers/vehicles no matter the formation (or sub-formation) they belong to. And so the markings on a soldier/vehicle tend to not match with what your unit information panel states. Should you have some knowledge about the manner in which the British Army marked their vehicles and uniforms then you probably have noticed other similar conflicts with them also.

Seeing my gunners and sappers appearing the same as the infantry annoyed me. But I was otherwise content with the stock uniform/vehicle textures. The only practical solution seemed to be to remove any such identifying markings from the textures. So that’s what I did. Now with this mod it is just the names given in the unit information panel that try to depict whom your soldiers/vehicles are, and nothing in the 3D view should contradict that.

Notice any units continuing to show markings that can identify them as an particular formation then let me know what I missed.
