CM:FI VEHICLES http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net Thu, 18 Apr 2024 09:26:34 +0000 en-GB hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=5.0.21 NO FORMATION MARKINGS MOD – CMFI – BRITISH ARMY http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=6961 http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=6961#comments Wed, 01 Aug 2018 17:12:21 +0000 http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=6961 In short these mods remove various details on the stock textures that depict the units being part of a specific formation. This pack in particular focuses on the vehicles and uniforms of the British Army in Combat Mission Fortress Italy. The mod is probably not compatible with vehicle and uniform texture mods from other authors. For the longer version about the mods continue reading.

The pictures above illustrate the reason I decided to create these. The game uses the same textures for some soldiers/vehicles no matter the formation (or sub-formation) they belong to. And so the markings on a soldier/vehicle tend to not match with what your unit information panel states. Should you have some knowledge about the manner in which the British Army marked their vehicles and uniforms then you probably have noticed other similar conflicts with them also.

Seeing my gunners and sappers appearing the same as the infantry annoyed me. But I was otherwise content with the stock uniform/vehicle textures. The only practical solution seemed to be to remove any such identifying markings from the textures. So that’s what I did. Now with this mod it is just the names given in the unit information panel that try to depict whom your soldiers/vehicles are, and nothing in the 3D view should contradict that.

  • Formation Badges Removed From Uniforms
  • Arm Of Service Strips Removed From Uniforms
  • Shoulder Titles Removed From Uniforms
  • Cap Badges Removed From Uniforms
  • Tactical Signs (Coloured Shape and Vehicle Number) Removed From Vehicles
  • Arm Of Service Signs Removed From Vehicles
  • Battery Signs Removed From Vehicles
  • Bridge Rating Signs Added To Some Vehicles
  • War Department Numbers Have Not Been Added Or Removed

Notice any units continuing to show markings that can identify them as an particular formation then let me know what I missed.

reworks of the M1A1 pack howitzer). In most units the M8 HMC replaced the interim T30 HMC.

The Wolverine Tank Destroyer was a US M10 GMC Tank Destroyer, developed for British use. It had an open-top turret and a US 76mm anti-tank gun, which improved its armor penetration capability compared to the 75mm gun. It was produced by General Motors and Ford, and it was numerically the most important US Tank Destroyer used in World War II, combining a reasonably potent anti-tank weapon with a turreted platform. It was designed based on the chassis of the M4 Sherman, and remained in service until the end of the war.

Available beginning… February 1944 (Britain, Poland, Canada)
Formations equipped… Self-propelled anti-tank batteries

Aris Renault R-35, by Aristoteles http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=2111 http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=2111#respond Sun, 30 Aug 2015 10:50:36 +0000 http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=2111 Unlike the more modern tanks fielded by the Americans and the Germans, many of the Italian vehicles in CM:FI, including the R35, have only two crewmen. This unsurprisingly places considerable strain on the tank commander, who must fill the roles of gunner, loader, commander, and even radioman if a radio is equipped. It also means that the tank must button up to fire and that the loss of the tank commander essentially renders the tank inoperable. Button these vehicles up early and often!

Photoreal samples of mud, a LOT OF dust, stains and Hi-Res Photoshop brushes were used to mod this vehicle. 2 Decal Options.
